The workmen are supposed to install the floor tile today, which will go around the tub surround as well. We decided to keep it straightforward without any decorative inserts which hopefully will have a more timeless feel. We'll have pictures on the wall, a nice area rug and that beautiful glass tile wall so the stone will have enough competition without fighting for attention. I should have some photos to post tomorrow of the room looking pretty swanky.
My partner is going out to the tile store to try to negotiate on the glass tile we like, we'll see what happens. Since we did the contracting on the project ourselves it has cost less than it would have otherwise so we can play around a bit on the wall tile. We'll just have to see what happens if he's able to get over there today. I've got my fingers crossed.
My partner cleaned up around the holes in the kitchen and bath and he (or we) will get the plasterboard up this weekend so I can start working the magic with the plaster. We'll also be sanding down some imperfections in the walls in anticipation of the new paint. There are something like 3-4 layers of paint on the walls plus a layer of wallpaper and that's all over a layer of calcimine. I'm not stripping these walls down we decided, we'll just make do with sanding and patching where we can.
