Not too much going on right now. The bookshelves in my office are built except for the doors and some paint touch up, but I've been able to put my things on them (still relocating my belongings from what is now the nursery).
I met with one painter, still waiting for his quote. We spoke on Friday and he said I should have it early this week.
I scheduled an appointment with an architect for Tuesday afternoon to discuss our options for the kitchen remodel. At the least is working in the existing space. On the more major construction side of the spectrum is rebuilding the sleeping porch upstair at the back of the house and adding on a sun room/eating area. We also threw around the idea today of extending the house to the northeast where we have wasted space in the yard and its dark. We could go so far as moving the back staircase and basement stairs, adding in a mezzanine with a new laundry room and opening up the dining room into the kitchen if we are able to relocate the adjacent bathroom. Totally major overhaul to the house but it could really open the space up and takes better advantage of the yard without losing the best parts of our backyard.
I guess we'll have to start talking about options and costs and figure it out from there.
I wanted a country feel for my kitchen, and so we settled for wood stools. What do you like for your kitchen to be?
