we have to work on the kitchen cabinet plans -- what structures to store what. I was talking about this aspect of planning for our kitchen remodel with someone at the office yesterday and she thought it would be fun. For me however, who does planning and analysis and project management all week long it is more of the same. Plus, with our toddler there just isn't that much time for us to work on it together -- let alone really explore our options.
I've got loads of books and magazines though, plus the Internet, so I will work it as best as I can.
There are lots of places you can go to get professional design help. When my wife and I were looking at getting our remodel done, we went to the big box stores, but they wanted $$ up front to get the design done. We considered doing it all on our own, but there is a lot to consider, as I'm sure you're aware. We ended up going with a designer who did his design for free, as long as we bought our materials through his company. It was awesome. The prices were great, by the way. We didn't pay a bunch more for the materials than we would have otherwise, and we got a professional design along with it. I'd highly recommend him. Go to www.totalkitchenstore.com The guy who helped us was Jason. He's one of the owners.
They have a referral program, so mention that I sent you, and he'll flip me some cash if you buy.
