The kitchen floor is sealed and looks gorgeous now. As you look from thd front hall through the diningroom into the kitchen it invites you in.
We made a decision on our cabinet knobs, though we still need to place the order. Here's the link to the Season knob (http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1278178&navCount=0). It's oil-rubbed bronze finish matches what we selected for window and door hardware in the new eating area addition.
Our new picture window above the sink will be installed tomorrow, finally ridding us of the ugly and architecturally inappropriate metal clad box bay.
Both island and outside countertops have been ordered now. The stone counter will go in next week followed by finishing up of the kitchen plumbing install. The butcher block counter will take a couple more weeks to arrive.
After that there is some paint touch-up to do and then we will make our decisions about the backsplash tile and kitchen table and seating.
It has been a long process, it's pace driven by our limited time to focus on it as we run a business, care for our son and had time to process all the inter-connecting decisions of a kitchen makeover. I highly doubt we could have moved much more quickly than we did but our thoughtful deliberations have paid off.
I'll share more photos as we finish up over the next few weeks.
Just found your blog! Thankful to see all the progress as I just bought a fixer-upper that I'm working with a contractor to tear apart bit-by-bit.
