My partner did a beautiful thing. Since the wall were the bathroom light switch is located was already opened up, he asked me if he should put a light in our hall. Yes! I answered enthusiastically since our upstairs hallway is a long corrider with only one light at the other end and can be dark when the doors to the rooms are closed even during the day.
He had two wall sconces to choose between and we decided to install this gorgeous lamp with glass tube fringe. It looks fantastic. He rewired the switch so that we have the bathroom switches together and the hall light switch by itself -- since the switches to the bathroom were already located on the hall wall due to being too close to the shower.
Of course now I can see how much spackle that portion of the ceiling needs before being painted. But, we'll get there soon enough.
Today the plumber is sanding the ceiling repairs in the kitchen and the tile guys might come to finish up a few tiny pieces at the edges. A little more wall prep in the bathroom and painting will likely start this weekend. Woo hoo!
